A fully operational wellness hotel with an event venue and a commercial kitchen

A young, fully established operating company in the Rhine-Main region is for sale; it operates an exclusive wellness hotel with an event venue as well as a separately leased commercial kitchen. The concept combines private wellness stays, overnight accommodations, and short-term bookings with the rental of event spaces for private parties, corporate events, workshops, and other custom formats. The business model is complemented by bookable add-on services and regular revenue from the leased catering kitchen. The business has been comprehensively developed and equipped over the past 14 months. Significant investments have already been made in furnishings, wellness facilities, technical infrastructure, online presence, brand development, and operational processes. The company can therefore, in principle, be taken over and continued without a lengthy start-up or renovation phase. The company is still in the start-up and establishment phase. For an experienced operator, there are particular opportunities for development in the areas of capacity utilization management, pricing, event sales, corporate client business, partnerships, and standardized additional offerings. The goal is a complete acquisition of the company’s shares through a share deal. Since the existing company will remain the contractual partner, the existing lease and contractual relationships can generally be continued.

Company Services: Manufacturing and Recycling of Custom Wooden Pallets

The company, located in northern Germany and currently up for sale as part of a forward-looking succession plan, is a family-run specialist in the manufacture, distribution, and recycling of (custom) wooden pallets, crates, and stacking frames. As an established specialist, the company serves a high-volume, systemically important market with clear demand drivers. The high overall demand for pallets, the high repair rate, and the growing focus on sustainable circular economy solutions create an attractive foundation for further growth and make the company particularly appealing to strategic buyers. Recurring revenue is generated through the purchase, repair, sale, and disposal of used pallets—a sustainable circular economy model that maximizes resources and fosters long-term customer loyalty. The customer portfolio is broadly diversified, with strong regional roots in northern and central Germany as well as growing international trade activities (primarily in Eastern Europe). Competitive advantages include unmatched flexibility, short delivery times, and a sustainable circular economy. The production model is particularly well-suited for batch sizes of up to approximately 1,000 units. A particularly positive aspect of the business model is that repair and recycling are not peripheral issues, but rather a relevant market mechanism: In Germany, approximately 25 to 35 million Euro pallets are repaired each year.

An established biomethane plant with a processing capacity of 350 Nm³/h and 1,336 kWel

An established biomethane plant with an installed electrical capacity of 1,336 kWel and a biogas treatment plant (BGAA) with a feed capacity of 350 Nm³/h is for sale. The plant has been in operation since 2011/12, has been regularly maintained, and is in excellent technical condition; following its acquisition by the current owner, approximately €4.3 million was invested in renovations, so there is no significant backlog of investment needs, and no further major capital expenditures are currently planned. The site is complemented by a ground-mounted PV system with a peak capacity of 290 kW. The flexible operating mode allows for targeted switching between EEG-subsidized power generation and biomethane production from renewable agricultural raw materials and livestock manure; biomethane production most recently ranged between 24 and 30 GWh per year, and in 2025 the plant was operating at nearly full capacity. EEG feed-in tariffs are secured through the end of 2031, and off-take agreements as well as all permitting and environmental documentation are in place. There is a clearly defined path for value enhancement: Profitability can be increased by raising the proportion of farm manure in the substrate mix without increasing the volume; once the EEG feed-in tariff expires in 2032, the CHP plant is scheduled to transition to the tendering regime. This provides a stable operational foundation with clear optimization options for the purchaser.

Buying a company vs. buying a firm

Buying a company means acquiring an independent organizational unit that regularly carries out an economic activity. A company can consist of one or several business operations. An individual can also found such an independent unit if they regularly carry out an economic activity — in that case it is called a sole proprietorship. As a rule, sole proprietors don't have to register in the commercial register; without that registration, they don't legally count as a "firm." A trade name, colloquially a "firm," is the name under which a company or sole proprietor appears publicly and conducts its business. Buying "a firm" therefore technically means acquiring the company's name or trading name. In everyday use, though, it's used interchangeably with buying a company — i.e. acquiring the entire business.
