Pharmacy Chain in Frankfurt am Main Under Preliminary Self-Administration Proceedings
As part of a structured investor process, the acquisition of an owner-managed pharmacy chain with two locations in Frankfurt am Main is being evaluated.
The chain is currently undergoing preliminary self-administration proceedings pursuant to Sections 270 et seq. of the Insolvency Code (InsO).
Current Situation
The business is facing economic and structural challenges.
Its earnings are under pressure due to rising costs (particularly rent) and regulatory conditions. At the same time, there is increased competitive pressure. The self-administration proceedings have been initiated to stabilize and realign the business.
Restructuring measures have already begun and will be further developed during the proceedings.
In addition to a solution involving investors, the option of continuing operations via an insolvency plan is being examined. A sale is therefore contingent upon it being the more economically advantageous solution in comparison.
