Transportation and Logistics Company for Sale in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

A freight forwarding company established in 2007 and headquartered in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is for sale. The company offers comprehensive services related to reliable freight transport, professional warehousing, and on-time deliveries in northeastern Germany. The sale is taking place as part of insolvency proceedings; the goal is to achieve a transfer date in the near future. The company has a well-established market presence, well-oiled operational structures, and experienced employees. Daily deliveries are coordinated from the company’s location Monday through Friday. For particularly time-sensitive shipments, same-day delivery is offered, both during the day and at night, within Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A particular advantage lies in the flexible fleet. It comprises a total of 13 vehicles, primarily vans and trucks. In addition, the company has access to over 2,500 m² of leased warehouse space. This includes, among other things, video-monitored areas, cold storage rooms, and high-rack pallet storage, making it suitable for sensitive goods as well. The company also provides logistics services such as fine-tuning order picking and inventory counts. The team currently consists of 21 employees, including van and truck drivers, warehouse staff, dispatchers, and temporary replacements for vacation and sick leave. Of particular note is the company’s night logistics operation, which employs 7 van drivers working overnight shifts.

Buying a company vs. buying a firm

Buying a company means acquiring an independent organizational unit that regularly carries out an economic activity. A company can consist of one or several business operations. An individual can also found such an independent unit if they regularly carry out an economic activity — in that case it is called a sole proprietorship. As a rule, sole proprietors don't have to register in the commercial register; without that registration, they don't legally count as a "firm." A trade name, colloquially a "firm," is the name under which a company or sole proprietor appears publicly and conducts its business. Buying "a firm" therefore technically means acquiring the company's name or trading name. In everyday use, though, it's used interchangeably with buying a company — i.e. acquiring the entire business.
