An established and protected lifestyle brand for ski-themed gift and party items. In-house product development, 52 countries, profitable

A brand founded in southern Germany in 2020 that specializes in party, drinking, and gift items with an après-ski theme is for sale. All products are in-house developments; they are protected by design and trademark rights and are manufactured in Europe (Austria/Germany). The flagship product is a shot glass with a custom mold featuring a functional mechanical element. The brand has its own glass mold at the manufacturer and a well-established supply chain. Sales are conducted through an international online store (customers in over 50 countries, approximately 18,000 end customers, 7,000 newsletter subscribers) and increasingly to business customers: sports retailers, the hospitality industry, souvenir shops, distributors, and corporate clients (branding and promotional items). The B2B share now exceeds 50%. The company has no employees and operates with a very lean structure. Logistics and assembly are fully outsourced to external partners. The gross profit margin is around 70%. Following a phase of high marketing investments, the company has been profitable since 2025. Ideal for gift and promotional merchandise retailers, beverage or sporting goods companies, or e-commerce buyers looking to scale the brand through their own sales channels. About the Founding Team: The business is deliberately kept lean. The two founders handle product development, purchasing, sales, and marketing. Customer service and key account management are handled by a freelancer (approx. 10 hours/week). Warehousing, shipping, and assembly are outsourced to external partners (fulfillment service providers and social workshops). Temporary staff for Christmas markets are provided by a staffing agency. The processes (online store, inventory management, B2B orders, newsletters, customer service, accounting documents) are largely digitized and documented. As a result, the business does not depend on the knowledge of any single individual. The founders—an experienced e-commerce duo with expertise in product and hardware development—will oversee the handover during an agreed-upon transition period. Reason for sale: The founders want to focus on other entrepreneurial projects and products. The brand and products are well-established. To take the next step in growth (more B2B and distribution sales, new products, international markets), a buyer with capital and an existing sales structure is needed. The sale is structured as an asset deal: the brand and registered design, glass molds and tools, inventory, online store with domains and content, customer base and retailer contacts, as well as supplier relationships. The founders will oversee the handover.

Buying a company vs. buying a firm

Buying a company means acquiring an independent organizational unit that regularly carries out an economic activity. A company can consist of one or several business operations. An individual can also found such an independent unit if they regularly carry out an economic activity — in that case it is called a sole proprietorship. As a rule, sole proprietors don't have to register in the commercial register; without that registration, they don't legally count as a "firm." A trade name, colloquially a "firm," is the name under which a company or sole proprietor appears publicly and conducts its business. Buying "a firm" therefore technically means acquiring the company's name or trading name. In everyday use, though, it's used interchangeably with buying a company — i.e. acquiring the entire business.
