MBI / Investment: Established e-commerce company in the DIY and gift segment

An established brand is now open to new business partners for its next phase of growth. The company is clearly positioned in the sustainable DIY, baby, and gift segments and offers products developed in-house, a loyal customer base, and stable organic demand. In addition to sales to end customers, there is a growing B2B and wholesale division. Customers include resellers—such as sellers on Etsy—as well as public institutions and organizations. Furthermore, the products are increasingly being used as promotional items and personalized giveaways. This segment is currently experiencing above-average growth and offers significant potential for expansion. The online store is built on modern technology (Shopware 6). On the marketing side, there is a solid foundation consisting of SEO, content, and performance channels. Growth was achieved in 2025. There are clear opportunities for development in the next phase, particularly through the systematic expansion of wholesale, direct sales to food retailers, the professionalization of the promotional materials business, and, above all, the internationalization of the business model. We are seeking an entrepreneurial MBI candidate or investor with an interest in day-to-day operations. An acquisition of 10% to 100% of the company’s shares is possible. The current managing director is available to facilitate a structured handover and provide support during a transition phase, as agreed upon.

Buying a company vs. buying a firm

Buying a company means acquiring an independent organizational unit that regularly carries out an economic activity. A company can consist of one or several business operations. An individual can also found such an independent unit if they regularly carry out an economic activity — in that case it is called a sole proprietorship. As a rule, sole proprietors don't have to register in the commercial register; without that registration, they don't legally count as a "firm." A trade name, colloquially a "firm," is the name under which a company or sole proprietor appears publicly and conducts its business. Buying "a firm" therefore technically means acquiring the company's name or trading name. In everyday use, though, it's used interchangeably with buying a company — i.e. acquiring the entire business.
