Patient Transport Service / Car Rental Company in Aachen for Acquisition

A relatively new but professionally and systematically structured car rental company specializing in medical transportation in the Aachen area is for sale. The company specializes in accessible transportation services, including wheelchair, stretcher, and stretcher-bed transportation. In addition, seated transportation services—such as school transportation, trips to day care centers, and similar services—are also available. Over the past two years, the business has been built up with a clear focus on sustainability, brand recognition, organizational structure, and further growth. The business is being sold for health reasons. For this reason, the order volume has recently been deliberately kept lower, meaning that the existing potential is currently far from being fully realized. In addition to the vehicle fleet, a professional public image has been established. This includes, in particular, a registered trademark, a consistent brand identity, logo and design guidelines, promotional materials, work uniforms, additional technical and operational resources, and a professionally developed website with inquiry and application functions. This is complemented by domains, email structures, review profiles, social media channels, and an established online and SEO foundation. A particular advantage for the buyer is that, in addition to the tangible assets, important foundational elements and extensive knowledge necessary for ongoing operations will also be transferred. Established passenger transportation company with its own 24/7 dispatch center is seeking a successor

For sale is a passenger transportation company that has been in business for over 20 years, with stable demand and well-defined processes. An independently operated 24/7 dispatch and scheduling organization (365 days a year) serves private and business customers. Revenue is derived from a balanced mix of on-demand trips, advance bookings, and recurring contract trips—ensuring predictable, robust capacity utilization and low dependence on individual customer groups. The well-maintained, customer-oriented fleet is designed for comfortable, professional transportation and also accommodates group trips and accessible transportation. The company offers discreet, service-oriented services, including shuttle and transfer services as well as organized trips under client agreements. For acquirers, the company offers an attractive platform for continuation and scaling. Strategic buyers or corporate groups, in particular, can leverage economies of scale and leverage synergies in dispatching, administration, fleet management, and sales. Financially, the company shows robust growth with revenue of approximately 1.44 million EUR (2022), 1.75 million EUR (2023), and 1.77 million EUR (2024). Adjusted EBIT for this period is approximately EUR 153 thousand, EUR 179 thousand, and EUR 169 thousand, corresponding to an adjusted EBIT margin of approximately 9–10%. The sale will take place as part of a share deal. A transition phase supported by management is generally possible, and its duration and scope can be flexibly agreed upon. Operating space is leased; taking over the existing lease is optional, and parking spaces are available for a double-digit fleet of vehicles. A second level of management is already in place and ensures stable operational leadership. Property: Leased premises with optional takeover Asking Price: 1.2 million euros (negotiable) for 100% of the shares (enterprise value) Buyer Profile: In addition to expanding passenger transportation companies, potential buyers include investment and holding companies that can demonstrate a strategic and long-term interest in the business, as well as individuals who, in addition to professional qualifications and relevant industry experience, also have sufficient equity capital.

Buying a company vs. buying a firm

Buying a company means acquiring an independent organizational unit that regularly carries out an economic activity. A company can consist of one or several business operations. An individual can also found such an independent unit if they regularly carry out an economic activity — in that case it is called a sole proprietorship. As a rule, sole proprietors don't have to register in the commercial register; without that registration, they don't legally count as a "firm." A trade name, colloquially a "firm," is the name under which a company or sole proprietor appears publicly and conducts its business. Buying "a firm" therefore technically means acquiring the company's name or trading name. In everyday use, though, it's used interchangeably with buying a company — i.e. acquiring the entire business.
