The existing infrastructure includes fish processing, packaging, refrigeration, and storage capacities. Market expansion in the European Union is planned for 2026.

Company Services: Manufacturing and Recycling of Custom Wooden Pallets

The company, located in northern Germany and currently up for sale as part of a forward-looking succession plan, is a family-run specialist in the manufacture, distribution, and recycling of (custom) wooden pallets, crates, and stacking frames. As an established specialist, the company serves a high-volume, systemically important market with clear demand drivers. The high overall demand for pallets, the high repair rate, and the growing focus on sustainable circular economy solutions create an attractive foundation for further growth and make the company particularly appealing to strategic buyers. Recurring revenue is generated through the purchase, repair, sale, and disposal of used pallets—a sustainable circular economy model that maximizes resources and fosters long-term customer loyalty. The customer portfolio is broadly diversified, with strong regional roots in northern and central Germany as well as growing international trade activities (primarily in Eastern Europe). Competitive advantages include unmatched flexibility, short delivery times, and a sustainable circular economy. The production model is particularly well-suited for batch sizes of up to approximately 1,000 units. A particularly positive aspect of the business model is that repair and recycling are not peripheral issues, but rather a relevant market mechanism: In Germany, approximately 25 to 35 million Euro pallets are repaired each year.

Sustainable Logistics Project Seeks Investor

We are seeking an investor, partner, or buyer for a sustainable project in the field of systems, intra-company, and general logistics—preferably someone who is already successfully active in the manufacture and distribution of pallets, particularly plastic pallets. The development project is a European-patented “Modular Load-Carrying System” that is to be manufactured from 100% recycled plastic and, thanks to its modular structure—unlike industry standards—is 100% repairable! Furthermore, thanks to the patented interface, the load carriers (currently available in Euro-pallet and half-pallet formats) can be connected using a bolt system to form load carriers of any size, and can be separated and reused after use. Likewise, the interface, which is present on all sides, is designed to accommodate logistics components (casters, frames, load securing devices, load cells, etc.). Due to the wide range of possible applications (pallet pooling, specific load carrier sizes for system logistics, etc.), the system can be used in virtually any area of logistics. The project is currently at the prototype stage. German and European patents have been granted. An investor and/or partner from the aforementioned sector is being sought for series production. A sale or licensing of the patent rights is also a possibility. The seller and patent holder owns an engineering firm with approximately 30 years of expertise.

Engineering plastics company with a machine park

The operating business of a plastics-processing manufacturing facility in Bonn, established in 1958, is for sale. The company focuses on the machining of semi-finished plastic products and the manufacture of lightweight mechanical components. The company has an established customer base, an experienced workforce, well-established production processes, and an extensive machine park featuring CNC lathes and milling machines, machining centers, saws, and measurement and quality control equipment. The company employs 27 people, including management, and generates annual revenue of approximately 2 million EUR. Modernization efforts have been undertaken in recent years; in addition, trade in semi-finished plastic products from Asia has been established. Due to the age structure of the shareholders, a succession plan is being sought. The plan is essentially for an asset deal involving the acquisition of the operating assets, the customer base, the operational structures, the employees, and, optionally, the continuation of the business under the current name with a succession suffix. The company currently operates on its own property in Bonn, which spans over 6,000 m². A co-acquisition of the property is possible but not mandatory. The property value is estimated at a minimum of 3.2 million EUR. The preference is for a strategic buyer who will continue the company’s operations and preserve jobs while further developing the existing potential.

Buying a company vs. buying a firm

Buying a company means acquiring an independent organizational unit that regularly carries out an economic activity. A company can consist of one or several business operations. An individual can also found such an independent unit if they regularly carry out an economic activity — in that case it is called a sole proprietorship. As a rule, sole proprietors don't have to register in the commercial register; without that registration, they don't legally count as a "firm." A trade name, colloquially a "firm," is the name under which a company or sole proprietor appears publicly and conducts its business. Buying "a firm" therefore technically means acquiring the company's name or trading name. In everyday use, though, it's used interchangeably with buying a company — i.e. acquiring the entire business.
