A growing company specializing in the retail of automotive accessories (aftermarket) and the installation of interior accessories

My rapidly growing UG (limited liability company), founded in 2024, is for sale. It operates in the automotive accessories (aftermarket) sector & alternatively, the installation of these parts (currently only interior accessories, e.g., trim pieces, ambient lighting) Since I am still employed full-time, I unfortunately lack the time to maintain the business to the extent necessary, let alone expand it. I was able to nearly double revenue from 2024 (sole proprietorship) to 2025 (the UG’s first active year). There is an inventory of parts with a purchase value in the low to mid five-figure range (which can also be sold off in advance upon request). There is no real estate, not even leased! The company operates in a niche market with little competition but many paying customers. Schedule-wise, I’m fully booked every weekend for on-site installation appointments. In the fall/winter of 2025, I was employed for only 20 hours and always had enough appointments during that time to fill half the week plus the weekend. However, the majority of revenue clearly comes from online sales. The sales channels have been in place since 2023, as I started out as a sole proprietor but quickly reached the limits of the small business tax regime. - My own website / online store - eBay Shop (over 600 positive reviews) - eBay Classifieds - Instagram - Facebook - TikTok I have now set the asking price at €50,000 (negotiable), excluding inventory and bank account.

Buying a company vs. buying a firm

Buying a company means acquiring an independent organizational unit that regularly carries out an economic activity. A company can consist of one or several business operations. An individual can also found such an independent unit if they regularly carry out an economic activity — in that case it is called a sole proprietorship. As a rule, sole proprietors don't have to register in the commercial register; without that registration, they don't legally count as a "firm." A trade name, colloquially a "firm," is the name under which a company or sole proprietor appears publicly and conducts its business. Buying "a firm" therefore technically means acquiring the company's name or trading name. In everyday use, though, it's used interchangeably with buying a company — i.e. acquiring the entire business.
