Berlin

A well-established, long-standing Berlin restaurant with a strong focus on group travel

A restaurant business in Berlin, established in 1968, is for sale and is to be transferred to a new operator as part of a succession plan due to the owner’s retirement. This is not a restaurant concept that needs to be built from the ground up, but rather a fully equipped and operating business with well-established structures, well-oiled processes, and an experienced team of employees. Of particular note is the business with national and international tour groups, which has been developed over many years. The business collaborates with established tour operators and also has a loyal customer base that has grown over many years. This means the buyer is not merely taking over the premises and inventory, but also existing business relationships and a restaurant business that is well-established in the Berlin market. The complete business equipment is included in the sale. This includes, among other things, high-quality restaurant furnishings, professional kitchen and refrigeration equipment, storage equipment, bar and dispensing systems, coffee and beverage equipment, as well as a wide range of other operational inventory. Another significant advantage is the existing lease agreement. The current net base rent amounts to approximately €3,700 per month . In consultation with the property owner, the goal is to create a long-term and economically viable rental arrangement for the future operator. Upon request, the current operator will be personally available to the buyer for up to six months to facilitate a structured handover and training . This will ensure that existing business processes, employee structures, regular customers, and contacts with tour operators can be transferred as smoothly as possible. The purchase price is €350,000, subject to negotiation , and includes all business equipment as well as the takeover of the ongoing restaurant operations. Key features at a glance: • A restaurant business established in Berlin since 1968 • An ongoing and fully equipped operation • An established business with international tour groups • Long-standing regular clientele and well-established business relationships • Experienced and well-trained staff • Extensive professional restaurant and kitchen equipment • Attractive rent structure • Personal handover support from the current operator • Purchase price: €350,000 (negotiable) For confidentiality reasons, detailed business information and additional documents will be made available exclusively to qualified prospective buyers following a personal review and the signing of the necessary confidentiality and commission agreements.

Buying a company vs. buying a firm

Buying a company means acquiring an independent organizational unit that regularly carries out an economic activity. A company can consist of one or several business operations. An individual can also found such an independent unit if they regularly carry out an economic activity — in that case it is called a sole proprietorship. As a rule, sole proprietors don't have to register in the commercial register; without that registration, they don't legally count as a "firm." A trade name, colloquially a "firm," is the name under which a company or sole proprietor appears publicly and conducts its business. Buying "a firm" therefore technically means acquiring the company's name or trading name. In everyday use, though, it's used interchangeably with buying a company — i.e. acquiring the entire business.
