E-commerce store for home accessories with its own AI-powered automation platform and inventory

The GmbH is an e-commerce company that has been in business for about 1.5 years, with its own Shopify online store and additional sales accounts on established online marketplaces. The online store—including web design, page structure, navigation, and visual brand presentation—was custom-developed and tailored to the existing product lineup. The company includes an existing inventory, established supplier networks, relevant domains, the existing brand identity, prepared product data and product images, as well as the complete technical and operational infrastructure for online sales. A key component of the company is a proprietary software platform currently in production use that automates core processes such as catalog maintenance, product data preparation, and content creation. The platform features a modular architecture and can be scaled to support additional product lines and sales channels. Source code, technical documentation, and an existing reference installation are included in the scope of the sale. In addition, processes are already in place for product creation, product line maintenance, content creation, and the management of the various sales channels. Depending on the product group and sales channel, attractive profit margins are possible; for certain product lines, the margin can be significantly higher than the purchase price, ranging from approximately 150–300%. This allows business operations to continue after the acquisition without the need for a fundamental reimplementation and enables further development in terms of product assortment and revenue as well as from a technical and strategic perspective.

Online Retail Ready to Go: 2 Stores and 4 Active Marketplace Accounts

Anyone setting up an online business today doesn’t spend the first few months selling, but rather developing the store, setting up integrations, activating features, and waiting for the first reviews. That work has already been done here. A trading company in operation since 2024 is for sale as a whole, 100%. This includes a B2B store and a B2C store (with three ready-made design variants), four activated and active seller accounts on major online marketplaces with a review history, a fully configured inventory management system connected to all channels, and a fully digital accounting system linked to the tax office. The core of this offer: Marketplace accounts are tied to the company and cannot practically be transferred to another merchant. Ratings, seller status, and history would be lost if the business were to be rebuilt from scratch. Whoever takes over the company retains everything and can start selling from day one. Experience shows that a new starter would need nine to eighteen months to reach the same level, and it’s uncertain whether every account activation will be successful. The company is intentionally structured to be flexible. All systems are designed for commerce rather than a specific product: wholesale, online retail, and brick-and-mortar retail can be handled through the same structure, either individually or in combination. A buyer can expand the product range or replace it entirely and continue selling through the same channels. For anyone who doesn’t want to spend months setting up but rather wants to get started right away, this is an excellent foundation: take over the business and start working the very next day. The takeover also includes tangible assets valued at approximately €14,900 net (custom-made store fixtures from a carpenter, computers, a point-of-sale system, and inventory, as documented by lists), established IT partners with negotiated terms, negotiated shipping terms, direct contacts with manufacturers and suppliers, and a small, active B2B customer base with repeat orders. No employees, no bank loans, no lease agreements. The business is managed by the shareholders themselves and can be operated entirely remotely. The 2024 and 2025 annual financial statements, including balance sheets, as well as the current 2026 business analysis, are available. To be frank: The business is still in the early stages of development, and revenue has recently been below break-even. Therefore, what’s being sold isn’t a cash cow, but a fully developed, proven structure with substance that’s ready for a broader product range and expanded sales. Why we’re selling: We, the shareholders, are joining another company and want to focus entirely on that going forward. We don’t have the time to handle two tasks at once. That’s why we’re looking for someone to take over what we’ve built and carry it forward. We’ll provide training as agreed. The sale includes everything: the business shares, the furniture and store fixtures, all the technology, the inventory, and all the established systems: online stores, marketplace accounts, inventory management, and accounting. A detailed sales brochure is available for serious prospective buyers. We’d be happy to discuss the purchase price and process in person.

Buying a company vs. buying a firm

Buying a company means acquiring an independent organizational unit that regularly carries out an economic activity. A company can consist of one or several business operations. An individual can also found such an independent unit if they regularly carry out an economic activity — in that case it is called a sole proprietorship. As a rule, sole proprietors don't have to register in the commercial register; without that registration, they don't legally count as a "firm." A trade name, colloquially a "firm," is the name under which a company or sole proprietor appears publicly and conducts its business. Buying "a firm" therefore technically means acquiring the company's name or trading name. In everyday use, though, it's used interchangeably with buying a company — i.e. acquiring the entire business.
